The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

Columbia Pictures, "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo"

I assisted in some fluid effects on the opening titles for the feature film “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”. RealFlow was used to create all the meshes for the fluid renders.

Bad Samaritan

Electric Entertainment, “Bad Samaritan”

I rigged and animated the horse and worked on the fur. I created blendshapes in Maya for the facial animation.

The Outpost

CW Series, “The Outpost”

I attached the Greyskin heads to the tracked actors and animated them. I created additional blendshapes for facial expressions and worked on lighting and texturing in Redshift.

The Librarians

TNT Series, “The Librarians”

I modeled, textured, and animated the submarine and torpedo. The underwater FX were created using Maya Fluids and nParticles. RealFlow was used for the water surface meshes and the rigid body dymnamics were done with Fracture FX.

Once Upon A Time

ABC Series, “Once Upon A Time”

We used RealFlow to create the ocean surface and waves along with the wave crests and spray coming off the caps, nParticles were then emitted from those particles to create the fine mist.

Across The Universe

Columbia Pictures, "Across The Universe"

I worked on match-moving a 3D character that was used as an emitter for Maya fluid. Salma Hayek was shot on green screen and composited over the model. It was used in the film during the “Happiness is a Warm Gun” song.

Leverage Season 3

TNT Series “Leverage” - Nitrous

The director wanted a Fast and Furious style fly-through shot of a nitrous oxide system in the trunk of a car. I created everything in Maya and lit and textured it using Mental Ray.

Leverage Season 2

TNT Series “Leverage” - Rappelling

These two shots show a woman rappelling down a skyscraper. I modeled, rigged, textured/UV, lit, and animated the woman using reference photos of the actress.

TNT Movie “The Librarian 2” - Rats

This a shot from The Librarian 2 where a horde of rats come spilling out of a tomb. I modeled, rigged, textured/UV, lit, and animated the rats. They were then added into a RealFlow sim for the swarming effect. See modeling reel for more detail.

TNT Series “The Librarian 2” - Bats

I did pretty much the same thing in this shot that I did with the bats in the previous shot; except they were instanced onto a Maya particle systems for the swarming effect.

Spaceship

TV Commercial, Spaceship

Here are a couple of shots of a spaceship flying around I worked on for a commercial. I animated the spaceship and cameras using Maya.

Here you see the closing shot from The Librarian 3. I was called in to add more large objects to the cave. I also modeled, rigged, textured, and animated the Loch Ness monster swimming around.

Leverage Season 1

TNT Series, “Leverage” - Airliner

This sequence is from “Leverage” on TNT. I modeled, rigged, textured, and animated the Boeing 777 and the cameras.

Flyboys

MGM, "Flyboys"

These were shots from the motion picture “Flyboys”. I modeled the Nieuport 17 airplane for holdouts and animated the particle effects and missile trails and assisted with explosions. I did all the previz with the director and went stunt flying!

TNT Movie “The Librarian 2” - Digital Set

The explosion from the lava pit was created using RealFlow. I modeled the environment for this shot which was based off an actual set. The digital set was then re-used over and over to add backgrounds for green-screen actors.

TNT Movie “The Librarian” - Fire Demon

I created this character from scratch using Maya to model, rig, and animate the movements. Maya fluid was used to create the fire emanating from the creature.

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition

Xbox360 Game Trailer “Lost Planet”

There are two shots from the “Lost Planet” cinematic commercial. I assisted during the final push with some additional particle and fluid effects, namely the exhaust and explosion from the RPG.

Crysis 3: Suit Up

Launch Trailer “Crysis 3”

I assisted fellow artists Mark Stasiuk and Arwinder Singh Bhurji in simming and meshing the explosions from the arrows. RealFlow and FumeFX were used to create the smoke and fire.

Cupcake Vodka

TV Commercial “Cupcake Vodka”

This was a crazy hard shot to pull off even though it may not look like it. I tracked the shot in Syntheyes then modeled and animated the icing in Maya. The conversion to fluid was done in RealFlow. FYI the martini glass is CG too.

I used Fracture FX and Maya rigid bodies to create the FX animation of the torn book pages re-forming.

The director wanted the hair and beard to grow out slowly to reveal the bad guy. I used custom spline curves and nHair in Maya to achieve this effect.

I used Maya and RealFlow for this shot. I modeled the man in Maya and filled and melted him using RealFlow.

I modeled, textured, lit, and animated the throat parasite and knife with Maya and Redshift.
